Akłak • Grizzly Bear
Grizzly bears have the largest range distribution of bears worldwide, found in Asia, North America and Europe. Their range has decreased significantly to about half of their range historically. Grizzly Bears hibernate in the winter, between 5-7 months, gaining up to 400 lbs in order to survive hibernation. Female grizzlies have their cubs in their den over the winter, with the cubs drinking milk from their mother and gaining strength before the spring.
