Nirlinak • Cackling Goose
The Cackling goose is a migratory bird whose breeding grounds are located on the tundras of norther Canada and Alaska. A pair of Cackling geese may mate for life (up to 20 years). There was a threat to the population in the late 19th and early 20th centuries due to over harvesting and habitat loss. Since then, the population has recovered and stabilized.
